Sylo Insecticide, manufactured by Solutions Pest & Lawn, is an oil-based concentrate that quickly kills pests like bees, ants, carpenter bees, and others and creates a residual barrier that continues killing and repelling insects for up to 90 days.

Sylo Insecticide is comparable to Demon Max (or Demon EC).

This emulsifiable concentrate can be applied using different sprayers to ensure all areas around building structures can be treated. As a synthetic pyrethroid, it works by interfering with the labeled pest's nervous system, causing eventual death through the active ingredient cypermethrin 25.4%. Once dried, this product is a repellent against wasps and other labeled pests.

Sylo Insecticide can reach and control targeted pests like hornets harboring in large areas, like lawns, or small areas, such as voids, cracks, and crevices around structures. It is strong enough to take down a target pest within 20 minutes and safe enough to use around residential and recreational areas.

Tools Needed

To use Sylo Insecticide, you will need to mix the product with water before application.

For most residential applications, we recommend applying the solution with a handheld pump sprayer. Depending on the size of the treatment area, you may also use a hose-end sprayer, a backpack sprayer, or a spray rig.

How to Use

Spraying Sylo Insecticide

  • Step 1: Determine how much Sylo Insecticide you need by first measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply the two values (length X width = square footage). Check the product label for the application rate you will need to treat your targeted pests, and use the measuring cup to portion out the right amount of product. Sylo Insecticide can be applied at a rate of 0.52 to 5.1 fl. oz. of product into 1 gallon of water to apply evenly over 1,000 sq. ft. of treatment area. The exact amount you will use will depend on the pest you are treating and the severity of the infestation.
  • Step 2: Fill your sprayer tank with half the required amount of water, then use the bottle's tip-n-pour feature to measure the correct amount of product you will need. Add it in, and agitate the mixture until the product is thoroughly dispersed. Then, add the remaining amount of water to fill your sprayer to capacity. Close and shake once more to ensure an even distribution of the product. Once the solution is thoroughly mixed, you can add additional products like marking dyes or surfactants.
  • Step 3: Once your solution is mixed, apply it as a broadcast spray or barrier spray and use it in cracks and crevices. Outdoors, you can apply this product over lawns, ground cover, shrubs, flowers, non-bearing fruit and nut trees, building siding, and any cracks and crevices that lead into the structure. Use a fan nozzle spray setting to get uniform coverage for broadcast spraying, surface spraying, or barrier spraying. Use a pin-stream nozzle setting for precise application for crack and crevice spraying.

Where to Use

Sylo Insecticide can be used on lawns, flower beds, and trees around homes, businesses, and recreational areas.

This product can also be sprayed around eaves, doorways, windows, and areas where utilities enter the structure.

When to Use

Sylo Insecticide can be used as part of a preventative treatment plan, creating a residual barrier that lasts up to 90 days. It can also be used as part of a control plan to eliminate pests quickly.

Safety Information

Sylo Insecticide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying this product.

Do not allow people or pets into treatment areas until the product has dried completely.

Special Considerations

Sylo Insecticide may also be turned into a foam with the correct foaming agent. This can treat wall voids to control or prevent termite, ant, wasp, and bee infestations or other arthropods harboring under slabs.
